The Stronger Roots Program will once again support the resilience and impact of diverse civil society organizations and their networks through grants and capacity building opportunities. Apply until June 16 and start the journey to strengthen your roots too.
The Stronger Roots Call for Proposals is open to a wide range of civil society organizations (CSO) networks from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. Eligible applicants include CSO platforms, associations, umbrella and roof organizations, coalitions, long-term working groups and others, operating at the local, regional or national level and across any thematic area.
You can apply for grants ranging from €20,000 to €35,000 for 18-month-long projects. Co-financing is not required.
In addition to financial support, the program will also focus on building the grantees’ capacities through a comprehensive educational program aimed at fostering collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, strengthening internal development, and engaging member organizations in this process. The support will include online or offline workshops, seminars, individual expert consultations and valuable opportunities to exchange experience and network with similarly oriented platforms from other countries.
The Call for Proposal has two rounds. In the first round, applicants submit a short concept note. Selected applicants are then invited to submit a full application in the second round.
Send your proposal electronically by June 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Here you can find all the information for the applicants from Hungary and here from Poland.
If you have any questions or need clarification, join our online information webinar in English on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Register for the webinar here.
The aim of this grant call is to support CSO networks in building and deepening transversal collaboration. This means systematically engaging stakeholders who may hold different ideological views or come from distant geographical areas but are key to achieving the strategic goals of the networks. These stakeholders may include government institutions, members of parliament, local and regional governments, private companies, business associations, other non-profit organizations or their networks.
Collaborating with such partners allows networks to gain new perspectives, develop relevant skills and capacities, and better understand and respond to the needs of their partners. As a result the networks become stronger and present more effective solutions to a variety of societal challenges.
At the same time, the Program offers a unique opportunity for CSO networks to focus on their internal development - for example, strengthening capacities, improving processes and forms of collaboration, or increasing the engagement of member organizations.
You can find the complete version of Call for Proposals (Pillar 2: Transversal Cooperation) here for the applicants from Hungary and here from Poland.
Between 2025 and 2027, the Stronger Roots Program will support around 20 CSO networks in the Visegrad countries with grants and expert support totaling €740,000, thanks to funding from the European Commission under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program.
Glopolis has been developing the concept of transversal collaboration since 2019 and provides expert support and consultation within the whole program. Grants are awarded by the czech OSF Foundation, slovak Open Society Foundation, hungarian NIOK Foundation, and polish Batory Foundation.
We look forward to working with you.
